Explicit Depictions in Contemporary Japanese Literature
Šedivá, Lucie ; Tirala, Martin (advisor) ; Weber, Michael (referee)
In thesis "Explicit depictions of contemporary Japanese literature" I deal with contemporary prose literature describing problems of nowadays Japanese society. In the first part I define taboo and chose suitable novels for the need of this work. I focus on different types of characters - freeters, foreigners, social outsiders and victims. Next I take Murakami Ry's literature as an example of explicit depictions and show different ways of processing and various topics chosen by the author. Then I compare and contrast his work with selected prose of younger writer Kanehara Hitomi, who represents the literature of female authors in contemporary Japan. In conclusion I discuss the aesthetic function of literature of explicit depictions and its position in the field of art. By comparing and contrasting the various novels I reach my own characteristic of contemporary Japanese literature of explicit depictions.
Maria Anna Mozart: historical figure and its literary reception
Shustova, Anastasiia ; Markvartová, Eva (advisor) ; Poimer, Christiane (referee)
This bachelor thesis examines how the figure of Maria Anna Mozart, the older sister of the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is represented in the literature of the 20th and 21st centuries. The first thing that is explored in the analysis is how the authors imagine her response to life events, the hardships, and the injustices of life. An important role also plays in the interpretation of the relationships within the family of Mozart and the family of Berchtold zu Sonnenburg, the spouse of Maria Anna, as these relationships are represented in the novels. An important part of the work is the description of various typologies of literary heroes as well as the methods of interpretation of the characters of a literary work and the specifics of working with heroes who have historical prototypes. In addition, the work contains a brief description of the life and fate of Maria Anna, which must help the reader to better understand the events and living conditions of Maria Anna, on the basis of which a comparison and an interpretation of the heroine in various works are made. It's a deep look at her character and feelings. At the end of this work shows that although the figures of Maria Anna are different in different works, there is always something in common to find. The thesis presented here with deals with an analysis and genre definition of the Nordic detective story, which is currently very popular in the Czech Republic. It is namely an interpretation of the works done by two contemporary Nordic authors in question, i.e. Stieg Larsson and Jo Nesbø. With the first of the two authors I will be looking into the complete trilogy The Millenium containing volumes of Män som hatar kvinnor (2005), Flickan som lekte med elden (2006) and Luftslottet som sprängdes (2007). As regards in Nesbø's works, I have chosen a series of detective stories with detective Harry Hole as the main character, especially two of them Panserhjerte (2009) and Snømannen (2007) and which appear to be the most successful and the most typical. On the grounds of the analysis of the particular literary categories such as the character of a detective and their investigative techniques, the narrative pattern, the narrator, and the continuum which are compared with the similar categories within individual historical detective schools itemized in the theoretical part of the thesis, and compared as well with other genres, it is to be stated that the Nordic crime fiction might be located somewhere on the border line between the detective story, the critical social novel and the thriller, taking on at...

Janečková, Tereza ; Otčenášek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Nedvědová, Milada (referee)
This disertation deals with the question of the common Bosnian identity in post-Yugoslavian fiction. It first sets up basic theoretical principles: the phenomenon of national literature and literature identity - only to prove later, on several examples of pre-Yugoslavian and Yugoslavian fiction, that such identity did exist. Finally, the work analyses several quotes of both Yugoslavian and exile authors and seeks, leaning on the theory of the myth falling apart, to establish the answer to the above question.
